The Council of Europe organised in co-operation with the Council of Ethics for Public Service of Turkey, two workshops and an international conference entitled “Developments on Legislative and Judicial Ethics”. The workshops were focused on Legislative and Judicial Ethics respectively. The discussions centralised on the developments, roles, contents and implementations of the codes and were held in closed sessions under the Chatham House Rule.
The Conference was open to public and the media and aim to discuss the major themes and initiatives on Parliamentary and Judicial Ethics over the past decade. Therefore, it provided general overviews rather than specific details of the workshops. It was addressed by the Minister of Justice of Turkey and the Vice-President of the Turkish Grand National Assembly.
