The CLEP Project, in close collaboration with the Moldovan Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), has supported four half-day workshops for reporting entities from the Republic of Moldova focused on the identification of the Beneficial Owners (BO). Sixty-three participants (18 men and 45 women) representing the Designated Non-Financial Businesses and Professions, micro-finance organizations, payment system service providers as well as insurance and financial market sector took part in the events. Attendees discussed with the Council of Europe expert international standards on BO identification, including new trends and developments in the area of BO transparency. Representatives of the Moldovan FIU described the guidelines on BO identification and addressed the questions of the reporting entities in this field, helping them establish better internal compliance programs.
