Camelia Lopez currently serves as the International Computer Hacking and Intellectual Property (ICHIP) Attorney Advisor for Dark Web and Cryptocurrency matters for the U.S. Department of Justice. Since 2009 until joining the ICHIP program, Ms. Lopez served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Texas where she was a specialist in National Security and Computer Hacking and Intellectual Property matters, served as the district coordinator for Elder Fraud and Money Mule Initiatives, and previously served as Senior Counselor to the United States Attorney, Senior Litigation Counsel, and Deputy Criminal Chief. As an AUSA, Camelia managed a full docket of cases involving transnational fraud, economic espionage, cyber intrusion, money laundering, and national security issues. Prior to joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Camelia was an Assistant District Attorney in Dallas County for 6 years prosecuting white-collar crimes. She received her Juris Doctor from American University’s Washington College of Law, in Washington, D.C., and her bachelor’s in business administration from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX.
