Born in Narvik, Northern Norway.
During the University studies, he worked for a year part time at a non-profit legal aid service.
He has a law degree (LL.M.) from the University of Tromsø, Faculty of Law, in Norway, December 1992.
Worked for a year at private law firm (1993-1994).
From 1994 to 2006, he worked as a local prosecutor in Northern Norway, with the office in Svolvær, the Lofoten Islands.
He has worked as a prosecutor at NCIS Norway, Oslo, since 2006, working on cybercrime and electronic evidence; and as a senior advisor at NVIC Norway, Legal and prosecution unit, since 2020.
Since 2007, he has been one of the Norwegian delegates at the Council of Europe's T-CY cybercrime meetings.
He was a member of the T-CY Bureau for two periods.
He has taken part as a speaker in several CoE competence building conferences, and also as a speaker on UNODC competence building conferences. He took part in four IEG meetings at UNODC, and most recently, the negotiations in Vienna in January 2023 on a proposed new cybercrime convention.
