In his current role as the Manager of ICT Risk Supervision Department at the National Bank, Goran plays a pivotal role in securing the financial sector against the challenges introduced by cyber risks and new technologies. His responsibilities include the continuous assessment of risks and new business models associated with decentralized finance (DeFi), virtual currencies, and new payment methods. Goran actively supports the national competent authorities and regulators in adapting to the changing landscape, providing insights into the unique security considerations associated with the advent of Web3 and smart contracts. As a Consultant for the Council of Europe, OSCE, and Expertise France, Goran has been at the forefront of addressing the unique risks posed by virtual currencies. He is recognized for developing and delivering specialized training programs and guidelines that delve into virtual currency transactions, money laundering prevention, and the evolving landscape of financial investigations. Goran’s international collaboration extends to the Bank of International Settlement (BIS) Innovation Hub Network, where he actively engages in shaping the future of financial regulation and supervision which reflects his dedication to securing financial systems and positions him as key influencer in shaping the future landscape of digital finance.
