Miriam Bahamonde Blanco

Career prosecutor since 2008. Currently advisor at the Directorate General for International Legal Cooperation and Human Rights of the Spanish Ministry of Justice. From 2013 until joining the Ministry, member of the Spanish network of prosecutors of international cooperation and the hate crimes network. In the second half of 2017, seconded as a "référendaire" at the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU).


Currently she is member of the Bureau of the Council of Europe Convention against Cybercrime, she participated in the negotiations of the Second Additional Protocol to the aforementioned Convention and is currently Spain's representative in the negotiations of the United Nations Ad Hoc Committee on a Comprehensive International Convention against the Criminal Misuse of Information and Communication Technologies. At EU level, she is an expert on data protection, electronic evidence and mutual recognition Working Groups. She is also member of the Bureau of the European network of genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes and contact point in the Counter-Terrorism Committee of the Council of Europe. At national level, she is member of the National Security Council's specialised counter-terrorism committee.
