On 29 and 30 March 2023, 31 Finnish judiciary and law enforcement professionals participated in a Training on preventing and combating online child exploitation and abuse (OCSEA), organised by the Council of Europe Children’s Rights Division, in Tampere, Finland.

The training was based on the Council of Europe Training Module for Law Enforcement, judges and prosecutors on online child sexual exploitation and abuse (OCSEA), that was developed in the framework of the EndOCSEA@Europe project (2018-2021), run in cooperation with the Council of Europe Cybercrime Programme Office (C-PROC).

The Council of Europe international expert shared relevant international standards for criminalising, investigating, prosecuting and adjudicating OCSEA, including the Convention on the Protection of Children Against Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Abuse of the Council of Europe (Lanzarote Convention) and the Convention on Cybercrime of the Council of Europe (Budapest Convention), whereas national experts presented the existing Finnish laws that criminalise OCSEA and related challenges, as well as good practices.
