In the framework of the EU-Council of Europe Joint Programme Enhancing the effectiveness of the Albanian system of human rights protection and anti-discrimination, in co-operation with the HELP in the Western Balkans and Turkey project, two pilot trainings on Anti-discrimination were launched in Tirana on 21 September 2016. The blended training will last three months and will target approx. 35 lawyers representing the Ombudsperson Office, the Commissioner for protection against discrimination (CPD), the Ministry of Social Welfare and Youth and Albanian NGOs.
The course is composed of five modules covering a general introduction to the Article 14 of the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR), discrimination against the Roma, SOGI and disabled communities, as well as gender equality.
According to the HELP training methodology, the model course has been adapted to the Albanian legal order by two national tutors who will moderate the course online along with face-to-face sessions.
Face-to-face trainings on Anti-discrimination issues will be organised for participants with visual and hearing impairments.
