On 19 March 2015, the Director of Human Rights of the Council of Europe, Christos Giakoumopoulos launched the project “Support to the Implementation of European Human Rights Standards”. In the next 18 months, support will be provided to the judiciary and non-judicial human rights institutions, including the Ombudsperson Institution in Kosovo*, to apply European human rights standards at the national level and to enhance their transparency and efficiency. This will be done through legislative expertise and capacity development.
The project, funded by Norway, will be implemented by the Human Rights National Implementation Division, Policy and Cooperation Human Rights Department, in close cooperation with the Council of Europe Office in Pristina.
