Malta's State Advocate’s Office and Ministry of Justice in Strasbourg to learn from experiences of Council of Europe institutions

As part of the project to support the reorganisation of the Office of the State Advocate (OSA) in Malta, series of meetings were organised in Strasbourg for the delegation of the OSA and the Ministry of Justice.

Representatives of the European Court of Human Rights (Registry lawyers, senior officials and a judge) and the Council of Europe (legal and training departments, CEPEJ) offered practical insights into their working methods and case management techniques. The discussions centered on improving the OSA’s operations, focusing on case handling, using statistics to improve performance and automation of processes to improve overall institutional performance.

The visit concluded with a dedicated training session on change management to aid in the reorganisation of the OSA.

The Project is co-funded by the European Union via the Technical Support Instrument, and implemented by the Council of Europe, in cooperation with the European Commission.
