On 28 May 2020, the Council of Europe organised an online seminar for the representatives of civil society organisations on effective execution of ECtHR judgments at national level. Participants learned about the working methods of Committee Ministers of the Council of Europe, main problems identified in ECHR judgments in respect of Georgia, execution status of the court cases. The role of the non-governmental organisations in the process of implementation of ECHR standards by providing alternative reports on protection of human rights to the state institutions was specifically highlighted. The participants also overviewed an importance of having an easy access to the latest data on execution of ECHR judgments and using the functionalities of the Council of Europe HUDOC EXECUTION data base.
The online session was organised within the Council of Europe project on “Supporting Parliamentary Oversight over the Execution of the European Court of Human Rights Judgments in Georgia”.
