HELP in Central Asia
The main partners and beneficiaries of the Project are national training institutions for justice professionals and Bar associations. Training will benefit directly legal professionals (mainly judges, prosecutors and lawyers) and, when relevant, law enforcement officials.
The main objective of the Project is to facilitate the creation of a common legal space between Europe and Central Asia and enhance human rights protection through implementation of HELP Programme. The Project is implemented as part of the joint EU/CoE Central Asia Rule of Law Programme.
Three expected results are foreseen under the Project:
- Awareness is raised about benefits of a common legal area between Europe and Central Asia based on key Council of Europe conventions open to non-member states and other internationals standards;
- Increased policy dialogue and collaboration among Central Asian countries and with Council of Europe member states;
- Legal professionals throughout Central Asian region have enhanced knowledge of European human rights standards through European Programme for Human Rights Education for Legal professionals (HELP) methodology.
