Enhancing the effectiveness of the Albanian system of human rights protection and anti-discrimination
The main partners and beneficiaries of the Project are the Commissioner for Protection from Discrimination (CPD), the People’ Advocate and the Ministry of Social Welfare and Youth (MoSWY). Throughout the implementation period the project will closely co-operate with other state institutions, district courts, local government units, international and local non-governmental and inter-governmental organisations, media operators and relevant stakeholders from the private sector.
The main objective is to strengthen the effectiveness of anti-discrimination and human rights protection in Albania.
The following results are expected:
- improved coordination of the Human Rights and Anti-discrimination bodies and policies;
- strengthened administrative/professional capacities and efficiency of the CPD and the People’ Advocate to effectively implement and monitor anti-discrimination law and policies
- increased level of awareness of the general public and specific target groups on the key aspects of anti-discrimination policy.
