The second Intercultural Cities Index Analysis for the five districts of Cyprus have been published. These index analysis reports will help the Cypriot municipalities and networks take stock of the achievements and challenges in their district and can be used as a point of departure for the continuation of the activities implemented under the regional intercultural action plans and strategies.
The regional network coordinators led the process in October 2024 to complete the index questionnaire for the second time, which includes questions on:
- the local setting and demographic context
- intercultural policies, structures and actions
- governance/policy areas which contribute to intercultural integration
This data was then analysed and compiled into a report for each district which includes:
- the results of the district in the different governance/policy areas
- charts that illustrate visually the scores attained by the district for each indicator and how they compare to the city average or to a cluster of cities sharing similar characteristics
- information on the region’s good practices that could inspire other cities
- recommendations based on examples of good practice from other cities that municipalities may consider to improve their results in one or several governance/policy areas.

The previous 2022 reports and more information on the Cypriot Regional Intercultural Networks can be found on the district pages: “Enhancing structures and policies for intercultural integration in Cyprus”.
This activity was implemented in the framework of the EU/CoE joint project “Enhancing structures and policies for intercultural integration in Cyprus” co-funded by the European Union via the Technical Support Instrument, and implemented by the Council of Europe, in cooperation with the European Commission.
