The common Methodology for the Multi-Country Study is now published

A common Methodology has been prepared within the framework of the Council of Europe’s Project on “Support to efficient domestic capacity for the execution of ECtHR judgments (Phase 1)”.

One of the main components of the Project is the carrying out of a Multi-Country Study that will analyse existing national execution mechanisms in Council of Europe member states and identify best practices and effective national models in light of Recommendation CM/Rec(2008)2 of the Committee of Ministers to member states on efficient domestic capacity for rapid execution of judgments of the ECtHR.

This Methodology will support the carrying out of local studies in the Council of Europe member States which will assess national systems of executing the ECtHR judgments and decisions to support the development of the Multi-Country Study. It aims to establish the means of collecting and comparing this data from different countries, in order to present it in the most usable and efficient way.
