On 12 January 2021, the Contrôleure générale des lieux de privation de liberté (General Inspector of all places of deprivation of liberty) of France, Mrs. Dominique Simonnot, visited the Council of Europe and met in particular with the Department for the execution of judgments of the European Court of Human Rights. The execution by France of two recent Court's judgments, of which a first examination by the Committee of Ministers is scheduled for 2021, was discussed: J.M.B. and Others v. France on the poor conditions of detention in prisons and the lack of an effective preventive remedy and Moustahi v. France concerning the detention and removals of unaccompanied children from Mayotte to the Comoros.
