Second launch of the online HELP course on Reasoning of Criminal Judgments

The Council of Europe and the European Union in co-operation with the High School of Justice officially launched the online HELP course on Reasoning of Criminal Judgments in Georgia on 30 April. The course is accessible in Georgian language enrolling around 30 judges for the seven weeks.

HELP course has been designed to address the needs of judges required to reference the judgments and case-law of the European Court of Human Rights. The course is developed in an interactive way, with seven different modules including the right to a fair trial, and reasoning of criminal judgments.

Apart from the adaptation of the online course to the Georgian legal context, two national tutors will be supervising the e-learning. The activity promotes strengthening the application of the ECHR standards by the national courts.

The online launch of HELP course is organised under the CoE/EU joint project "Supporting the criminal justice reforms - tackling criminal aspects of the judicial reforms in Georgia" which is funded by the European Union within the framework of Partnership for Good Governance programme.
