The Council of Europe commemorated the 18 November: Day for the Protection of Children against Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Abuse with a series of outreach events. Held from 18 to 22 November 2024 in Tbilisi, Kutaisi and Batumi, the events brought together over 300 participants.
Each session included interactive sessions with a diverse group of attendees, including children, educators, and child protection professionals. Children were empowered to actively ask questions to educators and professionals, and particularly valued this opportunity for open dialogue. Additionally, they were equipped with practical tools to identify risks and seek assistance when needed.
These initiatives reflect the commitment of the Council of Europe in creating safer environments for children in Georgia. By promoting collaborative action and providing relevant resources, the Council of Europe supports children in navigating a complex digital and social landscape.
The events were organised under the Project “Combating Violence Against Children in Georgia”, implemented within the Council of Europe Action Plan for Georgia 2024-2027.
