On 25 February 2025, the Council of Europe Project “Further Enhancement of Social and Economic Rights in Georgia” hosted the 4th Donor Coordination Meeting, bringing together international organizations dedicated to improving labour rights, as well as the social and economic rights of people with disabilities and older people in Georgia.
The primary goal of the meeting was to strengthen collaboration between the Council of Europe and other development partners, to exchange information and experience on implemented and planned activities, and to map and coordinate donor activities in the field, including current goals and objectives.
Key outcomes of the meeting included a renewed commitment to closer engagement with civil society and trade unions, and collaboration for smoother coordination among stakeholders, ensuring that the voices of those directly affected by labour and social rights issues are heard and addressed. Participants also emphasised the importance of a gender-sensitive approach in all initiatives.
The Council of Europe reaffirmed its commitment to organising regular coordination meetings, helping to identify gaps in funding and activities, and ensuring a more targeted and effective donor approach.
The meeting was organised within the framework of the Council of Europe Project “Further Enhancement of Social and Economic Rights in Georgia.” The Project is implemented as part of the Council of Europe Action Plan for Georgia 2024-2027.
