Supporting Prosecutor’s Office in policy development

The Council of Europe and the European Union continue supporting the Prosecutor’s Office in ensuring effective policy development and implementation. On November 7-8, 2023, the first training on Development of strategic documents, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of criminal justice policy for the staff of the General Prosecutor’s Office was conducted.

As a result of the training course, participants (13 female and 6 male) gained knowledge about the basic principles, methods and procedures of policy analysis, planning, monitoring, and evaluation based on the Resolution 629 of the Government of Georgia.

In addition to theoretical part, the course also helped to develop practical skills among participants through case analysis and group assignments. The acquired knowledge and experience will enable the employees in public policy planning, monitoring and evaluation units to perform their daily work effectively.

Second-round training sessions are planned and after completing the course, participants will have knowledge of the entire policy development cycle and the implementation of each stage and ability to apply knowledge in practice.

The activity was organised in the framework of the project "Strengthening independence and professionalism of justice in Georgia" co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe in their Partnership for Good Governance III 2023-2026.
