Pompidou Group of the Council of Europe supports the development of Positive Parenting Programme in Georgia. To achieve this objective, the Project ’’Developing a Drug Prevention Support Network for Parents and Professionals in Georgia’’ organised a two-day workshop on 6-7 June in Kazbegi, where the  team of psychologists and social workers of Special Penitentiary Service, State Care Agency, Crime Prevention and Probation Agency, Juvenile Referral Centre, Psychosocial Service Centre of the Office of the Resource Officers of Educational Institutions and international experts from Poland have discussed specific modules, practical exercises for parents, evaluation instruments of the programme.

Previously, the initial version of the programme was developed by the team of psychologists of the Special Penitentiary Service and peer reviewed by the Polish experts in early 2023.

During the workshop, the experts have discussed set of recommendations and suggestions that they developed within the peer review phase. The team of professionals and experts have agreed on the follow up steps and the process to finalize the programme and its evaluation instruments.

Pompidou Group will further support completion of the programme by the team of multi-agency specialists through supervision and expertise support provided by the Polish experts. In addition, it has been agreed that piloting of the programme will be launched with support of the Pompidou Group of the Council of Europe in late 2023.
