The evaluation and consolidation seminar of the long-term training course Training Trainers for Youth in Azerbaijan (TRAYAZE), is being held at the European Youth Centre in Strasbourg from 20 to 27 November 2023.

 Thirty-two youth workers, trainers and staff of youth centres have initiated this training in Baku in November 2022 and have since been taking part in an intensive learning programme that included e-learning, mentoring and projects practice. The Strasbourg seminar completes the training cycle by reviewing and evaluating individual learning and programme, strengthening participants abilities to integrate critical thinking in their activities and take into account recent developments in youth policy in both Azerbaijan and the Council of Europe. The role of youth work and non-formal education activities in promoting democratic youth participation will a cross-cutting element and approach in the whole programme.

 The course TRAYAZE was initiated in 2022 to extend the access to, and attractiveness of, youth work and non-formal education/learning, to improve the quality of educational activities in the field of youth work, and to expand the number of trainers in Azerbaijan with the competence to develop and implement non-formal educational activities by using the quality standards of the Council of Europe.

 The course is implemented by the Council of Europe Youth Department and the Ministry of Youth and Sport of Azerbaijan, in cooperation with the Azerbaijan Youth Foundation and the National Assembly of Youth Organisations of the Republic of Azerbaijan (NAYORA).

 The activity is implemented within the Action Plan of the Council of Europe on Azerbaijan 2022-2025 and the project Youth campaign for revitalising democracy.
