Erasmus Student Network (ESN)




 Aim

The aim of the session is to empower participants to meaningfully participate and contribute to matters that concern young people including policy and political processes at local, national and international level.  
 

 Objectives

  • 1.    To understand realities of young people and reflects on participants’ role in responding to youth needs.
  • 2.    To increase awareness and understanding of youth (non) participation including tools and approaches for supporting meaningful participation youth participation in practise.
  • 3.    To identify barriers and opportunities for youth participation and key actors (ESN, public sectors, NGOs, private sector, etc.) supporting meaningful youth participation processes.
  • 4.    To increase the knowledge of the participants about the key documents in the field of pluralistic democracy and youth participation including the Council of Europe standards and tools such as (Revised European Charter on the Participation of Young People in Local and Regional Life; and “Have your say” manual).
  • 5.    To support participants in developing an youth participation toolkit and plan impactful activities to act as multipliers for meaningful youth participation in the ESN and beyond.


 About the organisation

Erasmus Student Network (ESN) is a non-profit international student organisation. Our mission is to represent international students, thus providing opportunities for cultural understanding and self-development under the principle of Students Helping Students.
