The annual training course for Quality Labelled youth centres on Human Rights Education was this year hosted by the youth centre wannseeFORUM in Berlin which is one of the 14 youth centres currently holding the Council of Europe’s Quality Label.
The course was attended by educational staff and youth workers from labelled youth centres as well as candidate centres and the purpose was to bring the centres’ pedagogical programmes in line with the existing standards of the Council of Europe’s youth sector and to open up new perspectives and learn new ways to embed Human Rights Education in their work and programmes.
As the course was hosted by the wannseeFORUM the topic remembrance and history in Human Rights Education was also addressed which allowed for unifying the expertise of the wannseeFORUM Youth Centre and the Council of Europe.
This year’s course also introduced a long-term training strategy to enable programme coordinators and youth workers to revisit the non-formal education approach they are using in their daily work and to re-think the planning of educational activities for the upcoming years. The training course took place between 9 -13 March 2020.
