 Objectives:

  • 1. Introduce the concept of youth participation in youth policy, bringing the nuances of education policy and use ESU as a case study to demonstrate how young people can facilitate policy change
  • 2. Introduce the co-management model of decision making of the Council of Europe Youth Department, along with other forms of participation and build
  • understanding of the ways in which young people can take action in their local communities.
  • 3. Build confidence and enhance hope among young people and empower them to trust in their capacities and be part of initiatives that can facilitate
  • positive change in their contexts.
  • 4. Provide participants with initial tools and inspiration to create their own local initiative, with the possibility of mentoring and follow up by ESU.

 

 About the organisation

The European Students’ Union (ESU) is the umbrella organisation of 45 National Unions of Students (NUS) from 40 countries.
