Organised jointly by the German Federal Foreign Office, the University of Potsdam and the CAHDI (Committee of Legal Advisers on Public International Law) Secretariat, this high-level online conference took place on 26 March 2021. It was the second event on non-legally binding instruments taking place under the auspices of the German Chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers.
This Expert Workshop focused on the key elements of non-legally binding agreements between States and/or international organisations and their indirect legal effects as well as on standardising their usage. The opening remarks of German Legal Adviser Christophe Eick and UN Under-Secretary-General for Legal Affairs Miquel de Serpa Soares were followed by two panels with a total of six panelists.
