The 1st International Conference on Universities and Cultural Routes will take place on 13-14 November 2024, in Santiago de Compostela, (Spain), organised by the European Institute of the Cultural Routes (EICR- Technical agency of the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe programme) and Compostela Group of Universities (member of the University Network for Cultural Routes Studies).

This event takes place in the framework of the activities organised by the EICR in cooperation with the University Network for Cultural Routes Studies. Composed by more than 30 universities and academic institutions across Europe, the network aims to promote research on Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe related issues, foster academic activities in the field of Cultural Routes and offer scientific advice where required.

The purpose of this conference is to highlight existing research and academic activity of universities and to lay the basis for forthcoming new actions and collaborations in the field of Cultural Routes.

Participation is limited and the registrations will be reviewed and confirmed by the organizers on a first-come, first-served basis. 

Despite being an invitation-only event, the proceedings of the 1st International Conference on Universities and Cultural Routes will be disseminated on the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe website following the event for all interested stakeholders.
