Rainer Hofmann holds the Chair in Public Law, Public International Law and European Law at Goethe-University, Frankfurt (Germany). He is President of the German Association for International Law and sits on the Executive and the Management Board of the EU Fundamental Rights Agency, representing the Council of Europe. He was Member and President (1998-2004, 2010-2012) of the Advisory Committee on the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities and Member of the Board of the European Center for Minority Issues (Flensburg) and the Institute of Minority Rights at the EURAC (Bozen/Bolzano). He has widely published on issue of minority rights law and is, together with Tove Malloy and Detlev rein, editor of the Commentary on the Framework Convention, recently published by Brill.
