Impact:
A five-day international culture camp was held in Vinnytsia from 27 to 31 July 2021 in the city’s Peoples' Friendship Park. More than a hundred schoolkids, aged 8 to 17, were introduced to the cultures of the peoples of the world and those residing in their own city. The children went on virtual journeys to Asia, Africa, South America and the Middle East, South America and Europe.
The camp was organised within the framework of a competition for socio-cultural initiatives set up by the city and enabled by the participatory budgeting process. This project is one of the winners of the Public initiatives competition set up by the City of Vinnytsia and was organized with the support of the Vinnytsia Territorial Community. Ukrainian and foreign volunteers were involved in leading a discussion about intercultural values. The programme also included morning sports by the lake, painting workshops, cultural dances and crafts, numerous outdoor activities and focused discussions about open-mindedness, tolerance, values and the advantages of diversity.
The action was implemented as part of the city's Intercultural Strategy.
