Professional support of psychologists and social workers of Georgia’s criminal justice system through external supervision

A series of workshops was conducted between 12 April and 7 June 2024, aiming to provide professional support through external supervision to psychologists, social workers and their supervisors from the Special Penitentiary Service, the National Agency of Crime Prevention and Probation and the Juvenile Referral Centre..

The workshops included both individual and group sessions, where the participants could discuss specific cases and receive feedback from the Council of Europe consultant. The sessions also provided an opportunity for the participating specialists to discuss different practical approaches and methods applicable to their work.

The main objective of the external supervision meetings was to enhance capacity of the participants, particularly in managing the most challenging cases and to further develop their skills.

The workshops were organised under the Council of Europe Project ‘’Support to Penitentiary Systems Reforms in Georgia’’, within the Pompidou Group component. The Project is funded through the Council of Europe Action Plan for Georgia 2024-2027.
