On 30 May, 2014 the Council of Europe held a seminar on “Admissibility Criteria under the European Convention of Human Rights”.

60 lawyers and 15 human rights defenders and law students attended the seminar, which took place at the premises of the Free University of Georgia.

The seminar was delivered by experts on the Convention: Mr Giorgi Badashvili, a Georgian lawyer at the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) and Ms Nana Mchedlidze, a human rights expert. After a general introduction to the complaints system foreseen under the European Convention of Human Rights (ECHR), the two experts made a detailed overview of the admissibility requirements set forth under the article 35 ECHR.
