The Committee of Experts of the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages has recently adopted three new reports on the implementation of the Recommendations for Immediate Action contained in the preceding Evaluation Report on the Slovak Republic, Spain and the United Kingdom. Prepared by a committee of independent experts that monitors the implementation of the Charter, the reports acknowledge efforts made by the authorities to protect regional and minority languages, but also examine shortcomings in this domain.
The reports have been transmitted to the states' authorities and to the Committee of Ministers for information.
