- Description
- The Pontcysyllte Aqueduct is a navigable aqueduct, completed in 1805 under the direction of Thomas Telford. It is the longest aqueduct in Great Britain and the highest canal aqueduct in the world.
The Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and Canal Steering Group was established by Wrexham Council and includes representatives of different organisations. It is currently involved in the on-going management of the World Heritage Site.
The Pontcysyllte Aqueduct is an Individual Site of the European Route of Industrial Heritage.
