The national coordination committee for implementation of measures of the Media development Action Plan and the Council of Europe and OSCE Campaign for the safety of journalists plans several measures meant to improve the status of the journalistic profession, the media sector and pluralism as well as media literacy. More particularly some related to safety of journalists for the duration of the campaign:

- improvement of the position of the journalistic profession, including improvement of protection and safety of journalists and other media workers

- establishment of mechanisms for early recognition and rejection of clearly unfounded or malicious court proceedings (strategic lawsuits against public participation - SLAPP lawsuits)  

- informing of stakeholders and monitoring of legal frameworks for the protection of copyright and intellectual property 

- implementation is supported by activities of measure "4.2. Ensuring a free media space and strengthening the professional work of journalists" in the National Plan for the Protection and Promotion of Human Rights and Suppression of Discrimination for the period from 2023 to 2027, through which minority communities, journalists, editors, publishers and representatives of civil society organizations will be educated.

Within the scope of the National Coordination Committee for the Implementation of Measures of the Action Plan for the Development of Culture and the Media and the Campaign of the Council of Europe and the OSCE for the Safety of Journalists activity of informing of journalists in media companies is planned – further specific activities regarding informing journalists have been agreed with the representatives of newsrooms and professional associations in the media houses where they work on the aforementioned protocols, as well as informing local journalists in cooperation with police administrations in the Republic of Croatia.
