The Department for Information and Publishing of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers has organized a number of advocacy events, aimed at raising awareness on protection of journalist issues among students and the young generations, and participated to events more specifically dedicated to journalism, bound to stimulate further dialogue on issues of relevance to the journalism profession, including the safety of journalists.

In addition, it took part in a naming ceremony on May 3, 2024, for a public space in Puglia to honour the memory of two journalists, Renato Moro and Michele Frascaro. These two professionals had brought public attention to serious and complex local issues, significantly contributing to informing both citizens and public authorities with their investigative work.

This ceremony was in line with the provisions of paragraph 28 of the Appendix to the Recommendation CM/Rec (2016)/4, to emphasise the importance of the World Press Freedom Day, also via public events.
