Law students from the University “Haxhi Zeka” in Peja/Peć attended a lecture on the European Union, Council of Europe, and European Court of Human Rights standards on Freedom of Expression and Hate Speech. The lecture provided detailed information on basic principles and resources for freedom of expression as well as a presentation of the Council of Europe's recommendation on combating Hate Speech.
The conflict between these two rights was thoroughly elaborated on by those present which led to a lively discussion among students and experts.
The event was organised by the joint European Union/Council of Europe Horizontal Facility actions “Freedom of Expression and Freedom of the Media (JUFREX)” and “Promotion of diversity and equality”.
