The event will include a public presentation of the Council of Europe "Anti-rumours handbook", and promote its key principles in the local implementation of cities' inclusion strategies. It will also be the occasion to gather and showcase first-hand knowledge on good practices from municipalities involved in the implementation of Anti-rumour strategies and share lessons learned to overcome future challenges. A training for anti-rumours agents of Basque anti-Rumours Network ZAS will take place in the afternoon session.
The event will be opened by Mr Itziar Urtasun, Councillor Delegate of the Area of Equality, Bilbao City Council and by Mr Daniel de Torres, Director of the Spanish Network of Intercultural Cities and founder of Anti-Rumours Global. At the end of the morning session, the Head of Public Policies at Facebook Spain and Portugal will present a Facebook campaign that promotes the work of Anti-Rumours Global in the fight against stereotypes, as a mean to promote more cohesive societies.
