During his address to the participants, Mr Gnatovskyy congratulated the SPT colleagues, as well as the colleagues from the various national preventive mechanisms present, and expressed his deep appreciation for their work. He also stressed the importance of synergies between preventive bodies on all levels, and, as regards Europe, encouraged the SPT to focus on strengthening the national preventive mechanisms.
