The meeting provided in particular an opportunity to discuss the implementation of a number of long-standing recommendations by the CPT, including those concerning the legal safeguards for persons in police custody, standard living space in Polish prisons, the regime of activities and restrictions on contact with the outside world for remand prisoners, and the situation of persons placed at the National Centre for Prevention of Dissocial Behaviour in Gostynin and its branch in Czersk.

On 6 June 2024, Alan Mitchell, President of the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture and Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (CPT), met Polish Minister of Justice, Adam Bodnar, and Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Justice, Maria Ejchart in Strasbourg to discuss issues of mutual cooperation.
