1st meeting to review developments in the field of e-voting since the adoption of Recommendation Rec(2004)11

The Council of Europe hold the first review meeting in accordance with the point v. of the Recommendation Rec(2004)11 stating that “ in order to provide the Council of Europe with a basis for possible further action on e-voting within two years after the adoption of the Recommendation, the Committee of Ministers recommends that member states keep under review their policy on, an experience of, e-voting, and in particular the implementation of the provisions of this Recommendation and report to the Council of Europe Secretariat the results of their reviews, who will forward them to Member states and follow up the issue of e-voting”.
Representatives of 11 Member States as well as 14 experts gathered in order to share their experiences and talk about the future challenges e-voting is facing.
