Approval of the annual Workplan by the Steering Committee

Annual Work Plan was approved by national stakeholders at the Steering Committee meeting of the Council of Europe Project ‘Supporting Transparency, Inclusiveness and Integrity of Electoral Practice and Process in Georgia’

On 17 February, a Steering Committee meeting was held to discuss the project implementation as well as future joint activities with the Georgian counterparts. Chairperson of the Central Election Commission of Georgia, Chairperson of the Supreme Election Commission of the Autonomous Republic of Ajara, Deputy General Auditor at the State Audit Office of Georgia, Director of High School of Justice of Georgia and other national partners exchanged views on joint activities implemented throughout the year 2020, accomplishments and lessons learnt. Furthermore, participants discussed and approved the annual Work Plan of the project for the year 2021.

National stakeholders and the project team are cooperating effectively to address domestic needs and project objectives. The project is being implemented smoothly, effective measures in response to COVID-19 pandemic are in place.

At the meeting commitments were exchanged to continue and enhance fruitful cooperation with the Council of Europe electoral support project and to respond to emerging ad hoc challenges related to new digital era, COVID-19 pandemic and domestic context in a timely and sufficient manner.

The Steering Committee meeting was organised within the Council of Europe Project ‘Supporting Transparency, Inclusiveness and Integrity of Electoral Practice and Process in Georgia’.
