15th Warsaw Human Rights Seminar: the Role of the Convention system in strengthening democratic institutions

On 10 December, the Department for the Execution of Judgments participated in the 15th Warsaw Human Rights Seminar, organised by the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Council of Europe and the 65th anniversary of the European Court of Human Rights. This year’s edition of the seminar focused on the Role of the European Convention on Human Rights and the European Court of Human Rights in strengthening democratic institutions.

The Department presented the relevance of the execution of the European Court’s judgments for Convention-compliant legislation at domestic level.

The seminar was attended by the President of the European Court of Human Rights, Marko Bošnjak, and the President of the Venice Commission, Claire Bazy Malaurie.
