Online training session on the topics of ‘’Code of conduct of healthcare professionals’’ and ‘’Basic principles for Ethics Committees for healthcare professionals’’ was organised on 28 March 2022 for participants of HELP roll-out groups consisted of legal and healthcare professionals of Armenia.
On 17 February 2022 the Government of the Republic of Armenia has adopted the decision on ‘’Ethical rules for healthcare professionals’’. And this training session was dedicated to the discussion of those rules, as well as to the presentation of European standards in the field. The training session was conducted by Ms. Paula Martinho de Silva, member of the UNESCO International Bioethics Committee (IBC), the Champalimaud Foundation’s Ethics Committee, as well as international consultant of the Project on ‘‘Human Rights Protection in Biomedicine’’ and Ms. Izabel Abgaryan, Adviser to the Rector of Yerevan State Medical University, as well as local consultant of the Project on ‘‘Human Rights Protection in Biomedicine’’.
The substantial presentations were followed by active discussion on the topics.
It should also be mentioned that the draft of the Government decision on ‘’Ethical rules for healthcare professionals’’ was developed by involvement of experts of the CoE project on ‘’Protection of Human Rights in Biomedicine’’ within the framework of the close cooperation with the Ministry of Health of RA.
The Training session was organised in the frameworks of the Council of Europe’s Project on ‘‘Protection of Human Rights in Biomedicine’’ in Armenia.
