Pilot Youth forum on bioethics

Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare

6 June 2023 | Strasbourg, France

As a way to bring the voices of youth into discussions on human rights and biomedicine, the Steering Committee for Human Rights in the fields of Biomedicine and Health (CDBIO) organised a pilot youth forum on AI in healthcare, to provide a space for youth to interact with policy makers in an intergovernmental setting.

The forum took place at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg on 6 June 2023.  The aim of the forum was to provide the Committee with youth perspectives to inform its own work, including its strategic objectives and actions in the field of human rights and biomedicine.

"Speaking with policy makers allows us to have more trust in government, to make sure that the future is being taken into account now as a priority for young people."
Aisling Comiskey

"The forum is a great way to get young minds to think about issues that wouldn't normally be expressed at a meeting of the Council of Europe. It's really nice to meet as peers to show how young people care about issues and want to help make a change."
