Two projects are currently implemented in Albania.

The project "Sustaining Public Administration Reform at Local Level in Albania" provide legal and policy advice based on Council of Europe standards and deliver capacity building programmes developed from the Toolkits of the Centre of Expertise for Good Governance.  Activities will draw from best European practice and be specifically adapted to the local context to address the needs of the beneficiaries and build upon the outcomes of the previous intervention “Strengthening Local Government Structures in Albania.”

Focused on Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo*, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia, the project "Promoting deliberative democracy and innovative approaches to citizen participation in South-East Europe" (2024 - 2025) seeks to: 

  • Advance deliberative democracy as an innovative approach to citizen participation in local decision-making, complementing representative democracy;
  • Develop the skills and capacities of local authorities and their associations in organising effective deliberative processes.
