Description

The d'Artagnan Association in Sainte-Croix-en-Bresse (est. 1995) was created in order to highlight part of the history of the village of Sainte-Croix, which had for baroness Anne-Charlotte de Chanlecy, the only wife of the musketeer Charles de Bats de Castelmore, better known as d'Artagnan. Paying homage to this historical figure, the association set up the Espace d'Artagnan, established the 3rd Company, created a literary and artistic salon, and established various links with Gers, Champlecy and Maastricht.
