- Description
- The Italian Naval League (LNI, est. 1897) is a public body in charge of services of public interest that operates under the supervision of the ministries of Defense and Transport and Navigation and under the high patronage of the President of the Republic. It aims to spread, especially among young people, the love for the sea, the seafaring spirit and the knowledge of maritime issues, the effects of citizens’ participation in the development and progress of all forms of national activities having their field and means of action on the sea. LNI promotes the protection of the marine environment and inland waters and develops promotional, cultural, naturalistic, sporting and educational initiatives suitable for achieving the association's aims. LNI also works in concert with central and peripheral public administrations, with sports federations and foreign Naval Maritime Leagues.
