A delegation of the Committee of Experts is visiting Slovenia this week from 30 September - 4 October 2024 to evaluate progress made in the protection and promotion of regional and minority languages. The delegation is meeting with the representatives of the regional or minority languages speakers and the competent authorities in Lendava/Lendva, Murska Sobota, Maribor, Koper/Capodistria and Ljubljana. This is the sixth monitoring visit of the Committee to Slovenia. Following this visit, the Committee will draw up its evaluation report on the implementation of the Language Charter in Slovenia containing specific findings and recommendations for follow-up. The report is expected to be published in 2025.
