The Network to Promote Linguistic Diversity and the Council of Europe organised a Networking Breakfast at the Council of Europe office in Brussels to mark the European Day of Languages. The event took place on Friday 27th September 2019 and its key objectives were to celebrate the European Day of the Languages 2019, discuss the implementation of the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages with the Head of Secretariat of the ECRML at the Council of Europe, Mr Sixto Molina, as well as to talk about the new changes made in the operation of the Charter’s monitoring mechanism and exchange ideas on how the new European Commission should address the promotion and the protection of the linguistic diversity in Europe. This was a great opportunity to address the national authorities on recent developments.
In parallel, the Instituto Cervantes held an event with the Spanish Embassy celebrating languages.
