The focus of the visit was two-fold: to look into the treatment, living conditions and safeguards offered to civil and forensic patients in psychiatric establishments; and to examine the situation of foreign nationals deprived of their liberty under aliens’ legislation.
At the end of the visit, the delegation presented its preliminary observations to the Greek authorities, who have now requested their publication. The full visit report will be adopted by the Committee and forwarded to the Greek authorities in due course.
